Bee pollen is collected by bees on stamens of flowering plants. It is moistened with their saliva, honey flow or honey from their honey stomach, rolled into pellets and covered with a special wrap. Bee pollen is the richest source of a plant in terms of protein content, which is intended for the propagation of the plants. Bee pollen is an important source of proteins for bees and their main food source beside honey and water.
It contains essential ingredients for the development of the bee brood and is the basic raw material for the production of royal jelly, which is a necessary component of the queen bee's diet.
